The Integrity and Responsible Conduct Program at UMD

Fostering Integrity and Responsible Conduct at UMD
OIRC has created an institutional-level Integrity and Responsible Conduct Program (“IRC@UMD”) that offers programming, resources, and support to the UMD community. The goals of OIRC’s IRC@UMD program are to foster, promote, and ensure integrity and responsible conduct in research (“IRC-R”) and professional activities (“IRC-PA”) at UMD. We are dedicated to providing our faculty, students, trainees, and staff with the education, resources, and support necessary to foster a culture of integrity and responsible conduct in every aspect of their work.
Programming Areas and Resources

IRC-R
IRC-R programming focuses on providing information, guidance, and best practices to members of the UMD research community while also conveying expectations related to proposing, conducting, and reporting research at UMD. IRC-R programming addresses a wide variety of topics, including the traditional RCR/RECR topics set forth by Federal funding agencies.

Resources
OIRC has prepared a resource collection for members of the UMD community. These resources include information and materials related to integrity and responsible conduct in research, scholarly, and professional activities at UMD.
